How much of your energy is renewable?

We are proud to be the No.1 for Renewable Energy, where 69% of the power we supply is from renewable sources. This means that Airtricity matches 69%* of the power used by our customers into the national grid with electricity generated from renewable sources. This compares with 8% from Bord Gais Energy, 12% from ESB, 6% from Energia & 6% ESBIE.
The great news is that you don't pay extra; in fact our electricity rates are up to 13% less than the equivalent ESB electricity rates.
Airtricity won the prestigious Green Energy Award 2008 at the inaugural Green Awards. We were judged to be the company that best represents the supply of renewable energy. This is a great honour for us and we are delighted to be recognised among our peers.
100% of the electricity we generate in Ireland is from renewable sources. We now have 32 operational wind farms throughout Europe, with a further 13 under construction. By the end of this year we will have invested nearly €1 billion developing wind farms in Ireland.
